Bubblestack and Its Managements’ Future Plans

23 November 2017

Bubblestack is one of the winner companies of the Startup Georgia. The company uses hydroponics system that enables the automated production of plants. The hydroponics means growing the plants without the soil, in the water, which automatically delivers nutrients and minerals to the plants. So using this system, every single citizen – even those who are not experienced in agricultural works and do not have the agricultural land – can produce plants. This system can be placed in buildings and/or greenhouses.

“Winning the Startup Georgia funding enabled me to learn and develop a lot. Today we already received the first harvest. Our automated system worked well without any intervention from our side. This method has a number of advantages. Comparison with farming on soil, it does not require any pesticides, uses 90% less water (compared to traditional method), as it is circulated in the system without any loss. This enables the plants to grow intensely. For example, salad leaves can be harvested fourteen times a year. Due to vertical design of the system structure, the same amount of salad leaves can be produced on 120 square meter (in one year) than on the 1 hectare of land using the traditional method.”

In February, the startup plans to build the demonstration indoor farm in Tbilisi, which will support the development of farming in urban cities, closer to customers as well.

In order to ensure the superior quality of the product, the harvested products will appear in the retail network within the few hours after the harvest.

The team of Bubblestack has over 19 years’ experience in IT, 6 years’ experience in automatization, 5 in business development and 3 in hydrophilic. The company CEO also has a very good knowledge of biochemistry.
